Brent Yax

Brent Yax is the CEO for Troy-based Awecomm. The company, founded by Yax in 1999, specializes in technology consulting and management services. Awecomm is leading a charge to re-invent IT in the SME marketplace. Brent is extremely passionate about helping businesses create processes that eliminate technology barriers, while simultaneously creating structures that amplify business growth. 

Prior to Awecomm, Brent attended Western Michigan University to study Computer Systems Engineering. He moved on to specialize in IT management and ERP system consulting services where he became both a Microsoft and Novell-certified engineer. Brent's career path includes many years of software development, and application design and usability consulting. His experience and expertise is centered around the ways in which businesses use technology, which has lead him to be featured in various media outlets including StartUpNation podcasts, Hire It Done radio show, ITBusinessEdge, Corp! Magazine, dBusiness and Crain’s Detroit Business. 

For his entrepreneurial achievements, Brent was recognized in the 2008 edition of Crain’s Detroit Business “20 in their 20’s,” highlighting young and rising leaders in the business community. In 2010 he was a recipient of the Junior Achievement of Southeast Michigan's 2010's "Champions of the New Economy" as well as a Lawrence Technological University’s 2011 “Leaders & Innovators” Honoree.

Brent currently serves as Chairman of the Board for BouncePoint. He has previously served as Chairman for R.A.N Family of Services, helping raise funds for Melanoma research, and helped connect charities in need of specific goods to the business that can help deliver them. Brent served on the board of the Skyline Club in Southfield, MI. He also ran the “Chip in for Charity” golf outing and is an avid supporter of various other non-profit organizations.
